Waterfront Arts Festival - September 1, 2000
Delaware Cape Region artist Abraxas was among the artists who demonstrated technique
during the Waterfront Arts Festival. He used the occasion to work on a portrait of
Barbara Moon that will hang in the wing of Lewes Public Library being named in her memory.
Abraxas said he still has a long way to go before the portrait is complete. Nonetheless,
the work stopped Kathy Hughes in her tracks and brought tears to her eyes when she inadvertently
came upon the artist and his work. Barbara is Kathy's mother and she was stunned by the life
in the portrait. Abraxas works in oils.
