March 1994 - Portrait of Einstein

Brax Hudson of Lewes puts the finishing touches on his portrait of Albert
Einstein which will be on display during his show at Jerry's American Cafe
in Lewes. A reception is set for Friday, March 25.
HUDSON EXHIBIT OPENS MARCH 25
Brax Hudson is holding his second reception at Jerry's American Cafe,
Second Street, Lewes, on Friday, March 25, when he will be displaying his
just completed portrait of AlbeRt Einstein. The reception will take place
from 4 to 8 p.m.
A graduate of the New Renaissance Academy School of Living Oils where
he studied under Libby Berry, Hudson is one of only 16 students accepted
per year. Hudson works 60 hours each week at the canvas with additional
time spent studying and researching his subject.
Einstein is Hudson' s second portrait for noted collector P .E. "Ted" Goodwin,
who has an extensive collection acquired over many decades. He commissioned
Hudson for an additional portrait of President Harry S. Truman.
Hudson will be leaving Delaware following the Lewes reception for Boca Raton,
Fla. There he will be staying with his brother, Joss, executive producer
of Nordstrom Way, Hudson and Company.
Lewes artist to show Einstein portrait
LEWES - Lewes artist Brax Hudson will display his portrait of Albert Einstein,
commissioned by noted collector P .E. Ted Goodwin, at a reception on Friday.
The recently completed work will be on display from 4 to 8 p.m. at Jerry's
American Cafe, Lewes.
Mr .Hudson is a graduate of the prestigiouS New Renaissance Academy and
has completed a second apprenticeship under Libby Berry, who accepts only
12 students each year . The portrait of Einstein was purchased by noted
collector P .E. Ted Goodwin for $4,000. He explalned that the purchase of
art by promising young artists is his way of supporting select new classical
artists. Mr. Goodwtn has also commissioned from the artiSt a portrait of
President Harry S. Truman.
