Lewes Gallery of Art to carry Hudson notecards
Since Brax Hudson of Lewes had his first reception at Jerry's American Cafe
in Lewes last month, he has been commissioned to execute a portrait of Albert
Einstein by the patron who purchased his portrait of Sir Winston Churchill.
Hudson has also been commissioned by James Cregger, owner of Lewes Gallery
of Art, to do a collectors series of Delaware River and Bay Lighthouses,
a series of 10 lights from Fenwick to Philadelphia. The series will be initially
available only in notecard form. A collectors box with the Henlopen Lighthouse
on the cover will include 10 cards at $10 per box and be available only
at the Lewes Gallery of Art. Each card is comprised of a drawing of one
lighthouse with its history written on the back. The drawings are based
on seven years of investigation by Cregger and these never-before published
sketches are destined to become part of a future book on area lighthouses.
Anyone wishing to order from this limited first edition of 2,500 collectors
boxes can drop a post card to Lewes Gallery of Art at 110 West Third St.,
Lewes, DE 19958. Cards are expected to be shipped out in April. Hudson will
have a special premium series of 50 numbered, signed and personally inscribed
boxes available at $25 each.
